NSTA Article: Nanoscience with 3rd Graders

Vrylena Olney

Before Troy Dassler was coordinating outreach and labs at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, he was an elementary school teacher helping his students explore nanoscale science. Troy recently wrote an article for the October 2011 issue of NSTA's Science and Children magazine about his work at Aldo Leopold Elementary School setting up a lab and developing a series of lessons based on the lotus effect.

Download the article to find out more about Dassler's work and the discovery made by one of his students.

(Thank you to the National Science Teachers Association for letting us to share the article here!)
