Nano 101 introduces educators to NISE Net’s four big ideas related to nanoscale science, engineering, and technology (“nano”). Related NanoDays activities can be used with this overview presentation to help prepare educators to engage the public in NISE Net educational experiences.

The NISE Network program and activity templates package includes tools for developing educational programs: a lesson plan template, NanoDays activity guide template, slideshow presentation template, peer review guidelines, and Universal Design checklist.

Improv exercises empower educators to facilitate positive, learning conversations with visitors. Incorporating improv exercises into staff and volunteer training helps create a supportive and upbeat environment for educators to practice and strengthen essential skills. Guidelines for creating accessible programming within the NISE Network

The NISE Net learning framework indicates how our educational experiences support the six interrelated strands of learning documented by the National Research Council. It describes three principles, which are supported by examples of the kinds of activities visitors do when they participate in NISE Net programs, exhibits, and media. Two versions of this resource are available: a single-sided (one page) version and a double-sided (two page) version.

The NISE Network Bilingual Design Guide presents the variety of interpretive and design strategies the Network has used for different bilingual products, including exhibits, programs, and media. The guide focuses on NISE Net educational products offered in English and Spanish, but the considerations and solutions presented are more generally applicable to bilingual and multilingual museum experiences. The guide is complemented by the Translation Process Guide.
