General Description:

During the NISE Program Workshop at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, school groups provided feedback on a variety of nano programs. The programs were performed January 16, 2007. Fifty-two visitors (students, teachers, and chaperones) completed self-administered surveys about the Surface Area program. Most respondents (96%) were 13 and 14 year olds. This formative evaluation shows that

Major Findings:

The Surface Area program has three learning objectives. When asked to describe in their own words what the program is trying to show, 50% of visitors mentioned something related to one of the three objectives. Most of these responses pertained to two of the objectives; the third objective was mentioned only 2% of the time. While almost all of the visitors enjoyed the program (98%) and described it as interesting (96%), two thirds found little or no relevance to their lives.
