Nano Mini-Exhibition

Nano is an interactive exhibition that engages family audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. Hands-on exhibits present the basics of nanoscience and engineering, introduce some real world applications, and explore the societal and ethical implications of this new technology.

Building with Biology promotional materials (Digital copies of ads, posters, and banners)

These files contain digital copies of a wide variety of promotional materials for your Building with Biology event. They include multiple formats of ready-to-print and customizable ads, posters, and banners. Collections of sample press photos and Building with Biology logos for any event materials you might want to create can also be found in the "Links" section below.

Building with Biology reference packet

This is a collection of colorful, printable reference sheets on the basics of synthetic biology and related fields of study. Using illustrations and simple language, the sheets describe the essentials of genes and DNA, traditional agricultural breeding, genetic engineering, and synthetic biology. These sheets will be useful for many of the Building with Biology activities, as well as for general background on the subject.

Event Passports

These "passports" can be used at your Building with Biology event to help visitors keep track of everything they've done there—they can collect stamps to mark when they've talked to a scientist, asked a question about synthetic biology, shared an idea on the graffiti wall, or talked to a volunteer about the things they like or don't like about synthetic biology. The passport challenges visitors to collect as many stamps as possible.

Building with Biology Event Planning and Marketing Guide

This is a detailed guide for planning and promoting your Building with Biology event. The guide covers each step of preparing for your event, recruiting and training volunteers and scientist partners, facilitating conversations during the event, and evaluating the event afterwards. Also included are sample press and marketing materials, along with logos and fonts you can use to design your own promotional items.

Building with Biology welcome letter and list of kit contents

This welcome letter will introduce you to the Building with Biology kit, walking you through the contents of the physical and digital kits, as well as the basics of museum-scientist collaborations and the reporting/evaluation requirements for recipients of physical kits. The contents list itemizes exactly what you can expect to find in the physical and digital kits.

"How might synthetic biology change our lives?" graffiti wall

This is a set of printable materials for your Building with Biology event's "How might synthetic biology change our lives?" sticky note graffiti wall. These materials invite visitors to imagine all the ways the new technologies and techniques of synthetic biology could affect their lives, now and in the future. Visitors write their thoughts on sticky notes and share them on the "graffiti wall."
