This hands-on activity will guide you in making a 'synthetic Gecko tape' with micron sized hairs that mimics that behavior of the Gecko foot. The process is called NANOMOLDING. Also described is an easy setup using LEGO for testing how much weight the 'gecko tape' can hold.

The NanoDays Materials Package includes a planning guidebook, press release template, activity guide and sign templates, as well as logo on multiple templates, (letterhead, envelopes, T-shirts, etc).

The Nanomedicine Explorer is an interactive, updateable multimedia kiosk and media package, that is also available as a component of the Nanomedicine Exhibition. Visitors can explore a variety of topics and specific research areas in cancer nanomedicine through vivid animations and video story-telling up close with a diverse group of researchers. Interactive features include games, polls, and options to dig deeper into the material. Fully bilingual English/Espanol. Visitors can text message or email themselves a link to the companion website. Produced with support from the NIH NCRR SEPA program. The multimedia package can also be loaded into any computer display or custom-built cabinet to augment existing health, medicine,and nanotechnology exhibits.

The Intro to Nanotechnology exhibition introduces the basics of nanoscience through four interactive exhibit components.

Be a part of the buzz! See what’s new with nano. NanoBuzz is a web-based kiosk featuring exhibit-ready access to current nanoscale science, technology and engineering and emerging research in the news. Discuss issues, ask questions, take a poll, meet scientists, and post your own stories, images, questions and comments. NanoBuzz requires a web connection to automatically update the station with current nano news and to allow visitors to send emails from the kiosk.

“Nanosilver: Breakthrough or Biohazard?” is a public presentation which introduces audiences to the increasingly frequent use of silver nanoparticles in consumer products. During the presentation, visitors are guided through questions such as: What is nanosilver? Why is it used in consumer products such as teddy bears and food containers? How safe is nanosilver, and how might it affect the environment? Visitors are engaged with samples of nanosilver products, various images and graphics that tell the story of nanosilver, and a demonstration that uses a plume of diet cola to show how particle size affects reactions.

"Exploring Measurement - Molecules" lets visitors use their sense of smell to explore the world on the nanoscale. They learn that we can smell some things that are too small to see, and that a nanometer is a billionth of a meter.
