Museum visitors are contestants in a game show that encourages them to learn more about nanotechnology. The three rounds included here cover an introduction to nanotechnology; provide information on nanoparticle solar cells; and express the concerns people have for nanotechnology. New rounds of information can be plugged in as needed. The show is also designed to work with other hot topics, such as .....(genetically modified food, perhaps.) Other museums have used the title Wheel of Nanoscience.

Julia Moore and Evan Michelson of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars talk about nanotechnology products they’ve found for sale in a variety of stores. Should these products have some sort of special label? Journalist Philip Ball also weighs in on the controversy.

The Nanoawareness Study is designed to answer the question What, if any, impact do NISE Net activities delivered at Tier 1 and Tier 2 institutions have on the nanoawareness of the public audiences that experience those activities? The Nanoawareness Study was initially conducted in Year 3 and then replicated in Year 4 with some methodological changes and a different sample of participants. The plan is to replicate the study in Year 5. The following report describes the Nanoawareness Study findings from Year 4 in comparison to findings from Year 3.

Visitors "travel through time" with a host playing several characters: from the Future, 1900, 1945 and 1999. Visitors answer questions in a quiz about other people's predictions of future technology, and then are invited to make their own predictions.

This report presents the preliminary findings of a data set of 87 visitors from Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Museum of Science-Boston, Exploratorium, Science Museum of Minnesota, and North Carolina Museum of Life and Science, interviewed in order to learn their reaction to the advertisement for the upcoming Forum on Nanotechnology.
