MRS looking for organizers for the Spring 2013 Education Symposium

We have another exciting opportunity to offer an Education Symposium at the Spring 2013 Meeting and we are looking for 3-4 people interested in being the co-organizers.  The Education Symposia have become a most valuable staple within the Technical Programming portion of the MRS Meetings.  They have proven to be significant opportunities for the sharing of research and networking between our education and science communities as well as providing for many ancillary professional development programs and outreach activities.

  • Request for S13 Symposium Proposal
Proposal Deadline: to propose a symposium topic is December 9th, so we are asking you to seriously consider volunteering as an organizer.
  • Organizing a Symposium
Please follow the above link or information regarding organizer responsibilities and the submitting of a proposal.  If you still have further questions, feel free to contact the S12 Meeting Chairs posted in the Request for S12 Symposium Proposal link or contact
-Dick Stevens at MRS HQ,  stevens@mrs.org
-Richard Souza, Manager - Education and Outreach, souza@mrs.orgcontact
We also have members experienced at being an education symposium organizer who would be willing to help mentor those who are first attempting this role.

The NISE Network plans to have a booth in the Exhibit Hall - answering questions, displaying some of our activities for young audiences, and doing some hands-on activities.

Starting with just four symposia in 1983, the MRS Spring Meeting and Exhibit has grown to over 50 symposia and over 5,000 attendees. Held annually in San Francisco’s Moscone West convention hall, MRS Spring Meetings are essential events for discovering and presenting the very latest developments in materials research.
