Arvind Srivastava

 

PROFILE

Arvind K. Srivastava obtained MSc degree in Physics (Electronics) from the University of Gorakhpur, India, in 1991 and PhD in Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Technology (IT), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India, in 1999. His PhD dissertation was on the application of artificial neural network in gas odor identification using sensor array. At present he is research associate in the department of Material Science and Engineering, Northwestern University, USA. Prior to his present position he has worked at the Virginia Commonwealth University (USA), University of Sydney (Australia), Center for Chemosensory Research (UNSW), Australia, University of Antwerp (Belgium), Informatics Institute of Technology (a franchise of Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK) in Sri Lanka, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (India) and Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani (India). His current research is focused on the development of new tools and techniques for the design, fabrication and characterization of nanoscale devices in general and miniature chemical sensor array system in particular with the applications targeted to environmental monitoring, process monitoring, flavors and fragrances, medical diagnostics and robotics and automation. Based on his research he has so far published 33 research articles including several technical reports both in national and international journals and conferences and has applied for 7 patents/ disclosures. Dr. Srivastava is also on the Editorial Advisory Board of Sensors & Transducers Journal and serve(d) as a reviewer for IEEE Sensors Journal, IEEE Trans. on Instrumentation & Measurement, Sensors & Actuators B (Chemical), Talanta, Information Fusion, and Biotechnology Progress including funding agencies like US EPA, NSF, CRDF, and Agriculture Funding Consortium, Canada. He is member of IEEE and MRS. In addition, he is also one of the foundin members of start-up companies like: ENOSE Pty. Ltd., an Australian Company - manufacturer of chemical sensor system for environmental monitoring, odor abatement and medial diagnostics, and a new US based start-up NanoSonix Inc., semiconductor metrology company.
