PROFILE

Brad Herring is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. He graduated with a bachelor of science in Wildlife and Fisheries and a minor in Forestry in 1998 from the University of Tennessee. After completing his bachelors degree, Brad served in the United States Peace Corps Panama as an Environmental Education Volunteer from 1999 to 2001. In Panama, Brad developed and administered 40-hour teacher seminars on participatory education techniques, taught sustainable agricultural techniques in organic farming and fertilizers, and managed the construction of a $10,000 steel suspension foot bridge in his community. Brad met his wife in the Peace Corps and upon completion of their service, they hiked the entire 2,180-mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. His interests include fly-fishing, backpacking and wildflower explorations.
