Online Workshop: Changing the Conversation About Climate (Recorded)

The NISE Network runs a series of free online workshops to increase the number of professional development opportunities available to our partners, and create more channels for partners to share their work and learn from each other directly.

Changing the Conversation About Climate

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

11am - 12pm Pacific / 2 - 3pm  Eastern

Join us to learn how your organization can be part of a larger movement to change public discourse about climate change to be positive, productive, and solutions-focused! Meet members of the National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation (NNOCCI), which includes informal educators, the social scientists, and climate scientists who are committed to using evidenced-based communications methods and providing a professional community for climate communicators.

This workshop will provide an introduction to the knowledge, techniques, and support systems that NNOCCI has developed to empower educators and audiences to address climate change, as well as perspectives from NISE Network partners that have used these ideas in staff training, organizational planning, and public engagement. NNOCCI colleagues continue to experiment, evaluate and share successes from their work with each other, and presenters will also be keen to learn about the challenges NISE Network organizations face in addressing climate change and successes we have had.
