What We Do: Overview

NISE Network is designed to foster public awareness, engagement, and understanding of nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. To this end, the Network will drive a creative developmental process to innovate, prototype, and test new approaches to communicating the nanoscale world for use by others. This process will include a period of cross-disciplinary, cross-institutional experimentation.

Project deliverables encompass three strands of work:

  1. a set of interactive, media- and discourse-based educational products that effectively communicate and engage the public with nanoscale science and engineering
  2. essential new knowledge about design for learning in these subject areas
  3. a sustainable network of new relationships, alliances, and professional development.
Working groups, which are sub-networks within NISE Network, are responsible for specific deliverables within these strands.
