In 2007, the U. S. federal budget includes over $1.2 billion for activities related to nanoscale science and technology, including research and efforts to address ethical, environmental, health, and safety issues. Combine this investment with private funding and investments made by other countries and it’s clear that this is a very active area of scientific research.

Sharing Current Research
When you’re learning about a world you can’t even see, sharing information about your research activity isn’t always easy. The Nano Education and Outreach (NEO) Program works with graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, and research center education directors to help them communicate with the public. As part of this effort, participants in the NEO program have created posters describing specific research efforts. You can also learn about current nanotechnology research by listening to our SmallTalk podcasts.
