The South Dakota Discovery Center (SDDC) has always promoted cutting edge science and supported youth in their community. Currently touring the Nano mini-exhibit to schools and libraries throughout the Dakotas, SDDC works hard to bring their programming to students in underrepresented areas. Earlier this year, SDDC helped a local elementary/middle school robotics team achieve great success at the FIRST LEGO League State Tournament in Sioux Falls, SD.

Partner Highlight: Adelante Chicas Summer Camp
As we approach another summer season, we’d like to highlight a two day workshop held last summer by NISE Net partner, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, Oregon. In July of 2012, OMSI was invited to participate in a unique summer STEM camp program called Adelante Chicas, to present creative and hands-on experiments on nanotechnology.

The NISE Net hosted a series of 4 Nano & Society workshops this past fall that focused on preparing museum educators to engage the public in conversations about the relationship between nanotechnology and society.
Partner Highlight: NISE Net & Girls RISEnet Partner in Alaska for Gender Equity in STEM Learning
This past October, members of the NISE Net Inclusive Audience team had a unique opportunity to partner with Girls RISE (Raising Interest in Science and Engineering) Museum Network to co-host a two-day workshop at the Museum of the North in Fairbanks Alaska on gender equity in STEM learning and to increase participation of girls and diverse audiences in the field of nano science and engineering.
Partner Highlight: Very Small Science Creating Very Big Ideas at the Maine Discovery Museum!
Since the arrival of the Nano exhibition, the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor, ME has been working hard to create a lot more excitement about nano science, engineering, and technology! The Maine Discovery Museum (MDM) is the largest children's museum North of Boston. It has 28,000 square feet of exhibit space and serves about 60,000 visitors a year.

Partner Highlight: A Macro Invasion of the Nano Kind - Summer at the Saint Louis Science Center
This past summer, the Exploradome at the Saint Louis Science Center was taken over by the science of the small. All summer long, visitors to Amazing Nano Worlds! were immersed in the world of atoms and molecules enlarged 100 million times their actual size.

The Informal Science Learning Associates (ISLA) is a newly-formed nonprofit organization dedicated to improving educational opportunities for all children. A museum without walls, ISLA provides interactive programming in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to promote life-long learning in the community and surrounding communities of Laredo, Texas.
