PROFILE

Jane is a Research and Evaluation Associate at the Museum of Science, Boston, and is responsible for designing and implementing evaluation studies related to teacher professional development, school visits, and exhibit development. As a member of the NISE Network's evaluation work group, she currently manages the Network's Year 6 evaluation study that looks at the flow of information, ideas, and practices within and between Network Tiers. In addition, Jane currently serves as the TBI evaluation representative of the Network Community group and its multiple subgroups.

Jane comes from a background in research and evaluation in formal education. Prior to joining the Museum, she designed and conducted an evaluation of children's literacy habits and attitudes toward reading in rural Nepal. She has also worked for the American Institutes for Research and Stanford University School of Education in evaluating pre-service teacher education programs, leadership in urban school districts, minorities in the geosciences,and community-based literacy programs for immigrant communities.

Jane is a certified secondary education teacher and received her master's degree in international education policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In addition to working in research and evaluation she has taught high school in Mexico and worked with Latino and North African refugee communities in Montreal.
