I joined IBM's Watson Research Center after obtaining a PhD in Chemistry at Stanford. My research at IBM has included lithographic resists, biobased materials as replacements for petrolium-based raw materials, liquid crystal displays, and surface modification through self-assembling structures.
In addition to my "day" job, I have also helped initiate and organize several of Watson's educational outreach programs, including "Family Science" (3rd-5th grade), Engineer's week activities, and our Design Challenge (7th-8th grade). I also participated in IBM's Faculty Loan program and spent two years at the Colorado School of Mines teaching undergraduate courses and developing and implementing a hands-on outreach program for Denver inner-city middle schools.
