Miami Science Museum
As Director for Public Programming at the Miami Science Museum, Judy is responsible for the oversight and management of Museum programs including fee-based camp programs; targeted educational opportunity programs for minority and underserved groups; public programs for general visitors and special events; and school programs including the Museum’s Magnet School and outreach programs. She hires and manages science educators and project coordinators who design, develop and implement innovative and interactive science activities. She develops, manages, and acquires ongoing grant support, ensuring conformity with regulations and reporting requirements for multiple federal funding agencies.
Additionally she maintains relationships with key personnel at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the fourth largest school district in the nation and maintains partnerships other community organizations. In relationship with the MDCPS, She oversees the development of curriculum that adheres to national and state education standards.
Judy works directly with the President, architects and other contracted groups to plan for our move to a $275 million, 250,000 square foot science center, slated to open in late 2010.
