Hi! My name is Scott.
I graduated a couple years ago with a Physics B.S. from Southern Oregon University. Last year I worked at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum in Ashland, Oregon, through the AmeriCorps program. This gave me some valuable experience in the museum industry and taught me a lot about being an educator. After my service was complete, I was hired on at ScienceWorks to continue my work.
While I primarily enjoy teaching high school students and above, I have experience teaching elementary and middle school aged children through the museum. Between teaching labs (45 minute classes) and doing live shows and demonstrations, I have found that I can be a good teacher and presenter, something I would not have known if I didn't have this opportunity.
