Dr. Tissaphern Mirfakhrai is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford. He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 2009. His main research interest is studying the electromechanical properties of nanostructured materials. The main focus of his Ph.D. research was on electrochemically-induced strain in carbon nanotubes. He has also worked and published on the physics and electrochemistry of graphene, nanotubes, and conducting polymers, as well as on materials for photovoltaics. Dr. Mirfakhrai is a recipient of a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
