Never be without nano again.

Our friends at the Woodrow Wilson Center's Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies (PEN) recently unveiled an iPhone application version of their Consumer Products Inventory.

Launched in 2006, the inventory catalogs manufacturer-identified nanotechnology-based consumer products, letting you browse by category, country of origin, manufacturer, or search for a specific product. Note the surprisingly large number of products in the "pets" category. They also have an interesting analysis of the products in the inventory.

The iPhone app, findNano, lets users to browse the inventory from their phone, determine if a product is nanotechnology-enabled, and submit new nanotech products to be included in inventory updates. Download it for free from the Apple store or at nanotechproject.org/iphone.

A chart of the number of products in the inventory, grouped by category. The grey bars represent products in the inventory when it was released in March 2006, the orange bars represent products in the inventory as of August 25th.
