In collaboration with NASA, the National Informal STEM Education Network (NISE Net) has assembled a NEW set of engaging, hands-on Earth and space science experiences with connections to science, technology, and society.

We're pleased to offer all of the Explore Science: Earth & Space 2018 toolkit materials as a free downloadable digital kit. If you were awarded one of the (250) physical kits, you may find it valuable to share these materials with local collaborators and staff, and to use these materials to help prepare for your upcoming events. Or your organization can participate in a nationwide celebration of Earth and space science by downloading the digital kit from, www.nisenet.org/earthspacekit-2018

Digital versions of both the 2017 and 2018 toolkits are available as a free download:

The 2018 Explore Science: Earth & Space toolkit includes ten hands-on activities that explore the Earth, the Sun, our solar system, and the universe beyond. Example activities invite visitors to build and launch a paper research rocket, make and explore craters, investigate how water moves over the landscape, and more! The digital kit includes all the files and instructions you need to assemble your own activity materials, and also provides information about planning an event, partnering with local collaborators, finding subject matter experts, and tips for engaging visitors. The toolkit also includes both facilitation and content training videos for each activity.

All resources included in the digital toolkit carry a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 license to encourage free sharing, use, and remixing of the collection by similar education institutions and users. The NISE Network supports the creative use and repurposing of its materials under these simple guidelines.

Using NASA Wavelength, the NISE Network has also created a list of extension activities, media, and professional development directly relevant to users of the digital kit. These lists can be found on the NISE Network NASA Wavelength profile page here: http://nasawavelength.org/users/nisenet

list of partners receiving the 2018 physical toolkits is available here: http://www.nisenet.org/earth-space-toolkit-recipients-2018

The NISE Network has several one-hour online workshops coming up in the next months many of which specifically relate to the 2018 toolkit. Learn more and register for any of the upcoming workshops listed below at: http://www.nisenet.org/events
