Attack of the Nanoscientist

In this theater presentation, learners meet a supervillain from the future attempts to conquer the audience using...nanoscience?

DESCRIPTION

Nanoscale science and technology seems like science fiction, but is actually a part of our modern world. This ten-minute play introduces the idea of working on the nanoscale, and some of the exciting possibilities that exist through the use of nanoscale technology.

OBJECTIVES

BIG IDEA

Nanoscience is not one thing, it has many possible applications in many fields, like medicine, computing, materials, defense, environment, and consumer products.

LEARNING GOALS

  • 1) To introduce the visitor to the field of nanoscale science and technology 2) To encourage the visitor to learn more about nanoscale science and technology.

NANO CONTENT MAP

Nanometer-sized things are very small, and often behave differently than larger things do.

Scientists and engineers have formed the interdisciplinary field of nanotechnology by investigating properties and manipulating matter at the nanoscale.

Nanoscience, nanotechnology, and nanoengineering lead to new knowledge and innovations that weren't possible before.
