A collection of workshop resource to support modifying and facilitating activities to increase participants' interest, relevance, and self-efficacy in chemistry.

DESCRIPTION

The resources created for the Let's Do Chemistry Train-the-Trainer Online Workshops that were held in fall of 2020 and winter of 2021 include informational videos, practice worksheets, and additional resources to learn about the framework developed through the ChemAttitudes project. The modules share information about activity content, format, and facilitation techniques to make chemistry outreach activities better at stimulating interest, a sense of relevance, and feelings of self-efficacy in public participants. These resources are applicable to anyone involved in chemistry outreach or informal science education.

The five workshop modules include:

  2. Activity Format: Strategies that focus on what people do or experience during an activity
  3. Activity Content: Strategies that focus what people talk or think about during an activity
  4. Facilitation: Techniques used while facilitating an activity
  5. Build your Training: Guidance how to teach others about content, format, and/or facilitation.
